VAN GOGH & REMBRANDT IN AMSTERDAM - IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
Welcome to Van Gogh and Rembrandt in Amsterdam, an immersive experience of sound and light in Noorderkerk. Here, you can learn about the special connection the two artists had through a beautiful show. Vincent van Gogh was greatly inspired by Rembrandt, and wrote extensively about Rembrandt’s work in many letters. This immersive experience in the beautiful Noorderkerk church is a not to miss attraction for any art lover visiting Amsterdam.
There is no question that Vincent van Gogh and Rembrandt van Rijn are amongst the greatest Dutch artists of all time. They and their work might seem worlds apart, over 180 years separated their lives after all. But on closer inspection, you’ll see that the works of the Dutch Baroque master and the world-renowned post-impressionist painter are more similar than you might think.
Van Gogh & Rembrandt in Amsterdam is an immersive son-et-lumière show that lets you explore, through light and sound, how Vincent van Gogh became fascinated by Rembrandt when he lived in Amsterdam, and how his work was inspired on the paintings, etchings and views of the great master.
The show is set in the Noorderkerk church. This is a place both painters visited in Amsterdam, both of them attended Sunday services here. Now the church helps to tell their story, as the ancient inner walls become a continuously changing 360° canvas, and Van Gogh’s voice is heard in the church through his letters to his brother Theo and others.
Van Gogh & Rembrandt is a sound and light show in Amsterdam unlike any other, and an unforgettable experience that stimulates all your senses. Sit back and relax, or wander around, as the story unfolds around you.
